Competitive Company

One of the best ways a student can rapidly improve technique and artistry is to undergo the rigorous training necessary to prepare for a competition. An additional benefit to attending various competitions is the opportunity to vie for scholarships to university programs, and contracts to dance professionally, both in the USA and abroad.

Keep in mind that Ballet Institute of Atlanta is a pre-professional ballet institute, and *not a competition studio*. The experience and process of competition is offered as an add-on to serious students for the purpose of enhancing the student’s training and personal experiences. BIA’s objective is not to “win”. Dance is an art and competitions are used for the benefit of training, additional performance opportunities and exposure to high pressure performance demands. Therefore, it is possible we will win opportunities for “Finals”, but not attend, and “score sheets” may not be distributed. BIA is always looking at the bigger picture when it comes to student training and development as strong confident young adults. This does not mean we can assure every experience will be fun, easy and happy.
It does mean that Ms. Jaime and faculty will be there to nurture and guide students through all experiences with the confidence to handle future situations in life.
