Farrah Nixon is a choreographer, teacher, and dancer with her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Dance from the University of Georgia.


 

Farrah has over 22 years of experience and training in many different styles of dance including ballet, contemporary, jazz, modern, and aerial dance. Farrah grew up dancing competitively and has danced with companies such as Staibdance and CORE: Concert Dance Company. She was awarded the Cynthia Jarvis Memorial Scholarship in 2012 and in turn spent a summer studying at the American Dance Festival at Duke University. In 2014, Farrah was featured as a Guest Choreographer in the University of Georgia Ballet Ensemble’s 20th Anniversary Spring Concert. Currently Farrah is the Contemporary Program Director and Competitive Company Director at the Ballet Institute of Atlanta and spends her summers as Choreographer in Residence with Summer Dance Company. During the 2018 season, Farrah’s choreography won top scoring titles, Outstanding Choreography Awards, and received a top 12 score at YAGP inviting the ensemble to Finals in New York City. Farrah will be expanding her reach this year by while choreographing for the World Premier of Columbia City Ballet’s, Beatles, the Ballet.
